September 2022 - what did you do for your camper?

hi Joanne, yes i was at Codurus for the Dog, however i did not get there until late Friday evening, so just chilled at my campsite that night, (which was a tricky site to get into) i came to the Sat breakfast, and was set up in the top parking lot. i did get to judge the scout troop cookoff which was fun! sorry i didnt run into you, would have kept a eye out, however i honestley forgot you were coming. hopefully run into you again at some point when we can chat in a less busy atmoshere. yes it happened at home sunday evening, as my parking spot in my yard has its own challenges as well.

PDXpopup, i actually only bent the lower section on the siding, about 4 inches from the bumper, but after taking off the metal corner trim, i seen how cheaply they make these campers, the trim had butly tape which was marginial , covering about a inch gap of exposed wood where the side and rear panel meets. so i decided to run a piece of corner tape , (similiar to eternalbond) down the whole seam, seemed like the better thing to do at the time. may do the left side also at some point.

I keep a 30 amp to 15 amp short adapter on mine with an extension cord for charging or cooling the refer. for a trip. I was backing it out of the garage with the handy dandy trailer mover for a trip this last weekend and took the Furion outlet cover off because it was closer to the garage door opening than I realized. New Furion 30 amp inbound to be replaced next weekend :/

If you didn't know this, there are screws on the underside of the cover that hold the it on the "hinges". I tried to slip it back over the hinges for my trip but with the slight crack it split all the way apart. Had I seen and removed the screws I would have had a cover on for the trip at least.

Still camping, now in Mather CG at Grand Canyon. Newly paved loop, including site parking areas. Nice but it’s a bit higher than the ground now, so I have to watch my step exiting the camper.
I’m hoping our pull-up shelf, which I use for cooking and dishes inside, holds together until we get home and can repair it properly. The screws in the particle board are pulling out and road jiggling makes it worse. We keep
tightening and added match sticks yesterday. (No room in this site to set up our rain/shade structure and it’s threatening rain most of the week, so mostly cooking inside.)
We re-learned not to put icy things on the top shelf in the fridge yesterday. Fridge was at about 40 and we couldn’t seem to get it colder. The wire on the thermistor was loose, which was one issue. The frozen chili we had on the shelf next to the thermistor confused it into thinking there fridge was cold enough. I’d had that happen before with. Our ice, the fact the chili was as cold escaped me until we began troubleshooting.

Next summer when I reseal the front corner trim, I am going to use some Seal-Tite and then butyl. Eternabond is a mess if you have to get past it to perform a repair.

Just winerized it, and bug sprayed it. Put down 7 sticky traps. Its away for the winter as I have no plans on going anywhere else this year. For the first time i am done when it is warm out and not rushing against an impending freeze. Made it a little easier. I did screw up and filled the holding tank with the antifreeze, lol. So, I wasted a gallon. But no big deal.

Yesterday,we did a lot of organizing,and getting camper ready for winter storage. Still want to replace taillights with LED lights,along with a few other small things.

Last weekend was our last for camping in 2022. Today we cleaned it out and winterized the water system.

Within the next week or so, we will do the final storage prep, then off she goes to her winter storage.

Minnesota camping season is far too short.

Getting ready for my first trip of the year next weekend and had 4 marker lights ous so I replaced all my marker lights with LED. Headed out Thursday morning, all that is left is to sanitize the water system.

We got home from our 16-night trip to Grand Canyon. Great trip, great to be home. While there isn't a long list of things to do or replace, this was a trip where things just seemed to wear out. Our mid-length fresh water hose began to leak during our first stop. When we dumped the waste tanks mid-way through the trip, we discovered the Hydroflush had started to crack, not enough to leak, but enough to replace it.
During the trip, I had commented that the water pump seemed to be noisier than it had been. This morning, after we disconnected from our last-night FHU, we found that we got no water from the pump, which was now almost silent, instead of noisy. Yesterday, we'd used the facilities at a stop on the road, and didn't have water at either toilet or sink, but we figured we were parked so that the intake was out of the water, since the tank wasn't full. Guess not.
So, new hose, Hydroflush, water pump, and some miscellany such as ball lube, are all ordered from Amazon.
We also need better cotter pins for the sway bar, we bought new ones at the beginning of the trip, since they tend to get bent in use. The new ones bent worse than the old ones.
This water pump is only a year and a half old. We'll see if we can repair it so we have an extra one on hand. It is a bear of a job to change out the pump, given the location under the fridge. Courtenay is thinking he's going to install fasteners in the floor so that he can just slip the new pump over them and bolt it down.

Changed oil, spark plug and cleaned the air filters on the generator. Probably the last camping trip this weekend before things get too cold here. Going to https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Mueller for a couple of nights.

Got the roof completed this weekend which makes me happy, knowing the roof won't leak anymore. Also replaced the galley drain so it would stop leaking in the cabinet, rescreened the door since the PUP was open. Just need to replace the safety chains and the door seals and I'm good for now.

What did you use on the roof? My roof needs a good sealing.

Repaired torn vinyl window with clear tape and resewed it to the zipper.
Bought new springs, bolts and such for next weekend project.
Got out the map for Great Basin NP in NV and planning a trip mid October.

Reset the PUP last weekend and prepping for our trip to Silverfalls SP this weekend with the DW. Stoked to take her on a weekend date! My parents are taking the girls.
