With any luck I'm going to look at and buy a 59 Serro Scotty 13. It will be a complete overhaul project but all the metal siding and roof is straight and no corner crunches Whoo Hoo!! This isn't the one but you get the idea
That will be fun! There are many kinds of retro clubs. We saw a group of ladies and they had all the camps set up '50's to '70's.
I have a buddy at work that been redoing one for two years now completely overhauled. Said he wil be done this spring. Dont know what year right off hand
I would have loved to buy one of the vintage TTs and do a renovation on it, if we hadn't done that with our first pup, have no place inside to work on it, and didn't need one to use immediately. That's one reason we picked the Retro for our new TT. There are a couple of Shasta TTs that I pass regularly in town, I saw that our RV dealer got the reproduction in stock this week (I think they are all spoken for). I've seen a renovated Serro Scotty at a CG in the last couple of years. Very nice looking. Have fun working on it.
We got our start in camping last year using a Scotty Camper. One of my sisters has a hi lander that we borrowed. My other sister offered us her scotty (much smaller and a bit to small for a family of 4 but perfect for her and her hubby) Thank my sister for getting us into camping!! Now the countdown begins to April 2015 when we begin yet another year of camping memories!!!! --Rob--
My dad is a very handy craftsman. He has made furniture most of his life. Before he retired he started making custom furniture. People would bring him drawings and he would create their custom piece. Large companies brought him their blueprints for him to build samples for mass production. It has always been a dream of mine to buy one of these Scottys for us to work on together while he is still able.
