I have a nice Rhode Gear roof rack that I have not used for years, it has Lockjaw mounts on it which is what the Amazon rack is copied from.
I used it for thousands of miles and never worried about it, they don't come loose.
Thought about robbing the mounts and such from it and installing them on the camper.
The rails would come off the pop up before the rack let go of the bike.

I hate to tear that rack system apart, but have been unable to even get $100 out of it on CL.
    And was nearly $600 new.

    I've got one.
I don't like things that don't work though, worse when it's new.

I know, I'm that way also, it has to work, even of I'm never going to use it!

    Good news bad news.
We finally got out to Horseshoe campground last weekend.
I got the stereo to work, Bluetooth only from my iPod. But it did work.

Bad news. We have a leak in the roof around the Fantastic Fan.
We've had a lot of rain the last week or so. When I pulled the back bed out this weekend there was a small, barely damp spot, on the mattress.

We brought the camper home Sunday morning, I opened it up so it could dry as there was a heavy dew Saturday night.
It's rained a lot since so the camper is still up, and twice now there have been a few drops of water right under the fan.

I could seal it myself, but it's new and I shouldn't have to mess with it.
I'm more worried that it's been leaking since new and there is a potential for water damage in the roof.
I'll try to contact the dealer tomorrow, and possibly the manufacturer as well.

Weigh your options... You should not have these problems in a new trailer, no doubt, but who can fix it better and quicker?? I had tons of issues in my last pup (that I should have sent back to the dealer) but it was camping season! I fixed them on my own, the right way... have had a few minor bugs with the new tt but much easier for me to just fix them.... waiting for anything major to happen before next May!

Just for the record, I would definitely say leaks are NOT acceptable....

It's easier for me to fix it.
But it's obviously shoddy workmanship from the factory.
Not surprising as most of these look like they were built by drunken blind men.

I need to contact the dealer first, not easy with my work hours and location right now. Cell service is spotty.
I'm sure they're backed up for weeks, at best maybe they can tell me the best thing to use for sealant.

Next I'm looking at a cover for the fan assembly, which I'll have to paint as every review I've seen of them say that the plastic breaks down and they fall apart in a year.

WVWhillbilly.. sorry to hear you had some problems with your NEW PUP.. goodness that is just wrong.

Surely they will fix it for you..

I have no doubt you could fix it...

But I do wonder if that would be bad for your warranty?

I did see this on youtube?? Is this the right thing? Apparently there is some thing here on the POPUPPORTAL about this subject.. : )

I wonder about any potential of voiding warranty also.. contact and get a sense of where they are with reasonable customer service.

Nice looking tow rig and camper setup you have there.. hope it all works out for ya.

I hope you have it covered as with the rain we've had/ and are getting this week, it won't dry out.

Did get it folded up when I got home from work, it quit raining here for a few hours.
Called the dealership today, the woman paged service a couple times with no result, then asked if she could help.

I explained the issue, she apologized for the issues with a new camper and took a message for service.
Tech called me about 2 hours later and said I could bring it over the next chance I got. That will be early Saturday morning.

He said I could fix it if I wanted, but they would be happy to take care of it while I waited.
Hate to drag it an hour over there, but I'm not fixing it myself. If I wanted to work on something I could have gotten a $1500 project.

I also need the cables adjusted, as one corner is about an inch lower than the others. Yes, I'm that picky.

The AUX, USB, and HDMI inputs still don't work on the stereo. It's Bluetooth only.

Well that is good news, Hillbilly.

yeah, Certainly if you had wanted a project you could have found one, for a lot less money.

PICKY?? nah I agree, for sure get it "ALL" fixed by the dealer..you paid for it..

Glad they worked it out for you to come in soon..

You guys don't want to miss out on some camping opportunities.. : )

I am pretty certain I don't have a vent in my PUP.. Oh well, it would just be another hole to worry about as you said...

Good Luck I hope they get it all fixed for you..

Ok, just got home from the dealer.
Service manager looked at the problem area, resealed it and said if we have any more problems to just let them know. It was poorly done at the factory (surprise) and you could see where it was leaking.
We had heavy rain again yesterday and it wasn't wet inside, so I think it was leaking when the rain hit on a certain angle.
They adjusted the lift cable a bit, as the tell tale cable wasn't completely tight.
I asked about the stereo and was told that honestly they were a POS, but they would replace it under warranty.
Said I could leave the camper or pull the stereo myself if I wanted.
Bring it over and they would order a new one.

Or to simply replace it myself with a decent car stereo.
I think I'll warranty it once, if it fails again I'll put a Pioneer in it.
    It's not a priority, I just can't stand things that don't work.

I'm happy with the dealer so far, I really expected a run around on this.
It's better service than I got from the place where I bought a $57k truck.

No, it was Trailer City in Fairmont.
I've been there before and was a bit put off by the attitude I got from a sales person.
Only went back because when I called the one close to you they told me they didn't sell new pop ups anymore.
Wouldn't even order one with a deposit.
I figured they must have enough money, so I spent mine elsewhere.

We're at Stumptown now, going to get a growler filled and head back down to Horseshoe.

You can look at their inventory and tell they only cater to the high end buyer.
Roy's didn't used to be this way, But Mr. Roy isn't running it now

That is the impression I got as well.
I think they are chasing the full time living, pipeline worker who buys a new fifth wheel every 2-3 years.

They had a couple used pop ups when I called, one was old, beat, and overpriced.
The other was newer, and overpriced.

I told them I wanted a new one, they didn't have any and told me point blank that they were not interested in ordering one.
I won't bother them for anything again.

We just got back from another peaceful night at Horseshoe. Now I just have to back the PUP into the driveway and open it up to dry.
