Just wondering if anyone can beat our record. We purchased the pup and on our PDI the salesman was showing us everything which we would later realize we had failed to take notes on and while that was happening another employee of the dealer came by with a company truck and nailed the rear corner of our pup!

That is REALLY SAD! What happened after he hit the corner? What did you say? I would have SCREAMED-I tend to be a little over-dramatic. I do have a SPUT to report, though. We are new to this camper scene-we just up graded from a leaky tent to a pop up this past Thursday (July 10, I think). Two days later there was a terrible storm and,I have to admit, I left the door window open and rain came in! (SCREAM) We didn't realize it until the next day. My husband just shook his head and said "Well, at least it wasn't a brand new camper." I was really mad at myself for doing that but I now realize there is going to be a learning curve and we are going to make mistakes and have many SPUTs in the future.

The employee just nudged the corner of the rear bumper. No real damage but the dealer put a new bumper on anyway so we weren't too upset after that. :) A few years after that incident we owned a TT and I managed to nail the corner of my house with it. The rain gutter of the house damaged the rubber roof and there was other damage. Fortunately I had insurance coverage which paid most of the damage but not all. While at the dealer's repair service they inadvertently damaged the corner of the trailer. Well, they totally repaired everything they had damaged for free and as an apology they accepted the insurance company's payment as payment in full for their repair of the damage I had done. So all I lost was a little down time.

Just a day or two after hanging a new tent in our PUP, I was popping it to show the DW. Feeling resistance in the crank, I naturally crank harder only to here her yell "WAIT, SOMETHING'S RIPPING!!!" Go to the non-door side to see a two-inch tear in the bottom of the screen. Seems I left the window unzipped which got pinched between the bed rails when I closed it up last. Oh well, at least the it was the screen and not the tent or window.

I am assumming that since you were doing the PDI that you already had paid for the pup, if so then I might have you beat for fastest SPUT.

The money had not yet even transfered from my hand to the couple who was selling us our very first pup this past 4th of July weekend.

I was being shown the outside features/connections by the husband, and my wife was inside with his wife. I go inside and they are standing to the right of the doorway near the U shaped couch talking about curtains...... BORING.

So I go to the left and see the "Swing Level Galley", cool! I think I'll just give this baby a try, hmm, does not seem to go down very well. No problem, I'll just push harder, maybe it's a little sticky since the PUP is a 1996 model and 12 yrs old.

My wife then yells "STOP!". I swing around and she's giving me that look that only my DW can give.

APPARENTLY, you're not supposed to swing the galley down when one of the drawers are still slightly open, and ADDITIONALLY you're not supposed to push harder when in fact that drawer is slightly open and you feel resistence.......................... because then you WILL gouge the drawer. lol

Don't you just hate that feeling that comes upon you only nanoseconds after doing what you knew you shouldn't have done and it was just too late to stop your action? I'll pass the title to you, TX. Did you ask them to reduce the price due to it being damaged?

YES! I hate THAT FEELING! I had it all day yesterday after the rain incident. I am over it now, though. The PU is still up in the driveway with a fan running. I enjoyed reading the above posts--like they say "Misery loves company!"

Oh yes, I hate that feeling.

Fortunately the gouge on the drawer is small.......... unfortunately it is also the ONLY blemish to the drawers / cabinets now. DOH !!

I was so embarrased about doing what I did, I probably would have been fine with it if the previous owners said "Hey!, you're gonna have to pay for that before you buy this." lol
