Picked this up about a month and a half ago, upgraded from a palomino mustang pup, setup is so much easier. Last weekend when we were out someone was setting up their pup a few sites down from us, and the sound of the roof winch was painful to hear....

We talked about going dark or gray for some conveniences on long trips. In the end I couldn’t give up the canvas. Just can’t beat waking up to the sunrise in the woods.
Definitely will miss our Popup of 5 years and lots of memories.

Been there, done that!! In 2012, I took my DW with me to the camper dealer to get a part for the PUP and as I was talking to the parts guy, she was talking to a sales person. Took delevery on a Jayco X23B a few days later. Good luck with yours.

20190929_095635.jpg Here is our "hybrid ". Definitely not the normal hybrids posted here but I am not sure where I belong. Perhaps vintage or oddballs. It is very simple with 2 double beds, bunk style on the front 1/3, a jackknife couch, simple kitchen, and bathroom/shower combo. Really hoped it would fit in our garage but, once we saw it in person, knew that it wouldn't. However, the lower profile when towing is still a benefit. It weighs 2200 according to NADA and is an upgrade from our Coleman taos that is still in our garage. Needs some more work but we just resealed the roof and noticed a small amount of mold when we pulled down the vent screen. Hopefully not too big of a deal.

This brand was the only US manufacturer that made this style of trailer. I've seen some Australian brands like this.
Technically it's not a hybrid since a hybrid is defined as a blend of popup tent ends, with the body of a travel trailer.
BUT it could be defined as a type of Expandable trailer.

Interesting. I had no idea hybrid just meant the beds. Thanks for the info :)

R-Vision coined the term "hybrid travel trailer" when they first created them, in 1997. The following year, other RV manufacturers, like Forest River, Jayco and Dutchmen came out with their own hybrid trailers.

nope, those are "Expandables". you're talking about the rear hard-sided bed slideout models. Since there's no canvas, they aren't hybrids.
i never understood the Expandable term. Any RV with a slideout, could be called an Expandable. How is a rear bed slideout any different than a bed slideout on the side of a RV? A TT with a rear bed slideout is no different than one with a bed slideout on the side.
    that's why it's not considered a hybrid.
