We stayed at the park for a week (starting Saturday the 7th). First state park we've seen with sewer hookups at the sites. The camping loops are over a mile from the entrance. Watch your GPS - it sent us to the park entrance VS the camp entrance. Rangers were very friendly. Sites are kept free of leaves and are hard packed with a small gravel/stone coating. Very level for our pull thru 1/2 circle spot (43). Water pressure was consistent except Monday morning, where we had no pressure for about 30 minutes. Power was stable. Picnic tables were well maintained. Bathhouse had heat lamps over showers, 2 showers. Cleaned constantly. Sites cleaned immediately after departures. Camping loops are at the end of the park near 27; lots of traffic noise, to the point that it was a distraction. Many tents, and lots of 1night stays around us during our week. Overall a clean park, but beware of the traffic noise.

The park is a great place to kayak and bike ride the trails. Lots of walking if you like that. Manatees otters, gators, wild pigs and monkeys and deer. I live with in two miles of the park and try to kayak the river at least once a month...

Silver river is very pretty, when I lived there the club did some moonlight paddles from Ocklawaha up silver river around the springs area and back, just do not land or touch the ground or the guards will get very upset. Good report thanks for sharing.

This is very timely as we're looking to head there either over Memorial or Labor Day wknd. We've never stayed there even though we're only about an hour plus away. We may head down for the days some weekend just to get an idea of the set up (recon) before we go.
Again, thanks for the heads up.

We stayed there last year. We left the day before they were to do a control burn past the campground.
