Thank you michvhf! That post you did is exactly i need!! If the seller drop the price I will buy it. Looks like not a major headache replacing the cable. when I was checkin under the trailer, it doesn't look its been thru hell other than the cable.
What up council! New owner of an old 1988 Skamper 245c. Got for free from a family moving out of state. The cable broke on their last trip in 2016 and it has not been opened since. It’s a Goshen lift system which is still being made and put on new pop ups. Hooked up a temporary cable and got it open. Treasure trove of camping gear! Waiting on new parts from Goshen stamping. Can’t wait to get this thing in nature.
Just picked up this 2000 23D skamper has some work to be done on the curb side roof side panel and looking at adding AC to it sometime soon, hoping to create some memories for my wife and I and our twins. Makes me miss the days of camping with my mom and dad.
I just replaced the same panel due to rot. If you're careful, you can peel the siding off of that and glue it back on. The entire panel comes right off easy enough. I used 1x6x12 PT wood and joined them with dowels and Loctite 3X PL Premium glue from home depot. Then some vinyl siding cement also from home depot to reattach the siding - plan on putting weights on it till it cures - don't ask me how I know.
My upper door hinge also has pulled out of that same spot from rotten wood I suppose, once that board is replaced, I assume I can reattach that hinge to that board?
Yeah, you have to remove the upper hinge anyway to get the old board off. I did it when it was almost all the way down. Bit of a pain in the backside but at least I had it at chest level. No matter how you do it, support the roof. You can get the insert molding (that plastic stuff that hides the screws on the outside trim) on ebay fairly cheap. Take a piece off, flatten it and measure the width. Mine was 3/4" and 35' of it cost 10.95 with free shipping. I got 35' 'cuze I figured I'd have to replace the other side, but it seems pretty solid.
Anyone have an idea as to what year this Skamper is?
Looks fairly identical to mine and mine is a 2000 model
Ok thanks. Found this one not too far away from me for $2700. Trying to determine if it is a good deal.
Any clue on the model name?
Is there a manufacturer's plate on the frame or tongue? Just a thought. Our Starcraft has one on the driver's side of the frame.
Mine is a 23D says it just the left of the door, we paid $1700 for ours needing a little work which I don’t mind.
Just spoke to the lady. It's a 98 Skamper 21B. They are pretty firm but said they would take $2500. Just seems a little high as I found a 2013 Rockwood freedom 1940ltd for $4000. My issue is do i buy 20 year old camper for $2500 or a 5 year old model with a few more features for $4000. I really wanted to stay around 2 grand though. Decisions decisions...
Brand new camper owner. I got a steal on a Skamper model 245c not sure of the year yet. Just picked it up tonight. Just in time for the holiday weekend. Ready to have some fun.
Does anyone know where a good place to buy parts. I am needing parts like a sink faucet and other minor repair items
Here I thought I owned the oldest skamper or the only skamper rare ones I guess this is the camper my wife grew up camping in yes the actual one she grew up in it is a 84 132c and if any one knows where to get parts let me know
I just noticed ours had a 25 year anniversary tag on it by the door
Anyone know where we can get new bed rails for kat?
