Hi all! I'm thinking about replacing the swing out stabs on my dinette slide out. There never seems to be enough clearance to drop down the swing out stabs. Sometimes we can dig out room, that doesn't always work. They appear to be bolt on, so removal shouldn't be too hard. Any ideas on what to replace them with? Hoping for a permanent swap, not wanting to grab jacks out of the cargo area every time. I've attached pictures of my pup while set up in the driveway for reference.

They are 12" and I have max 8" clearance when the slide out is extended. I don't even have 12" when it is pushed in for traveling.

There doesn't seem to be enough room for the scissors when tucked though. They would extend beyond the edge of the slide. I'm afraid I would hit them on something. And on the wheel side, I don't think I could bolt them on without interfering with the wheel.

How is your axle? Do you have leaf springs? Those stabs were factory, strange that you don't have enough clearance. Something must have changed. Maybe a PO did something?

I was wondering why there wasn't enough clearance to begin with too.

I'll have to take a look when we fold it back up. I know that the slight angle of the driveway is part of it, but out of the dozen times we have used the pup, I think we have only been able to use the swing down stabs, maybe twice?

Never seen stabs on a dinette slide before, you sure they are factory?

Do you think you have room to mount something like this? It's going to require a little more surface area to mount than the swing down (drop leg) kind you have now, but they fold flat and can extend anywhere from 0" to full extension length.

We were hoping that we had room for something like that, because these are the type that are on the corners, but the frame that the slide out extends on, is a telescoping square tube that slides in to the center of the pup. We can't attach these on the telescoping square tubing. DH said we will just have to buy another scissor jack and store it in the front compartment. Thank you everyone for all of your input!

I saw at least one video on youtube for a StarCraft Constellation that even detailed dropping the stabs. I looked at one from that model line as well, I think an Orion, and it had stabs on the slide like that too. None on my Jayco though, and I admit I never saw them on other ones I looked at.
