Went to find the turkey roaster that was in the camper. And came across this little guy. Hibernating next to the hibernating camper. Anybody know what type this little fellow may be ?
Not sure as I really don't know much about snakes but I think it's a Northern Brown Snake. I don't think it's a copperhead as I believe the pattern is more pronounced on those. Thankfully for the east coast copperheads and Timber Rattlesnake are the only two poisonous snakes here typically although I could be wrong.
The head is the wrong shape to be poisonous.
Eastern diamondback . Poisonous snakes heads are shaped like an arrowhead. Either way be cautious , even if not poisonous snake mouths are nasty and can be painful and cause infection. Btw snakes are good for rodent control.
