We are hoping to take our popup on a road trip to somewhere warm in mid march. I'm assuming the only place that will work at that time of year is going to be in the desert somewhere.

We are located in the Vancouver BC Canada area, so the closer the better. It would be nice if the campground has a pool too!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance, Chuck.

I'm assuming next March (2013). Honestly, anywhere "north" is still going to be pretty cold. Even here in New Mexico it's still pretty chilly in mid March.....still snow on the slopes, etc. Yes, it's a bit warmer in the desert and that time of year is perfect for desert camping, namely because day time temps aren't overwhelming. That said, contrary to what many assume, the desert can be quite cold....it doesn't receive much moisture, thus it's a desert....but it can still be quite cold in the spring, winter, and fall once the sun goes down. The temperature change can be rather dramatic....you can have a beautiful 60-70 degree day and still dip to freezing and below over night in the high desert. You may not find such drastic lows in the lowland deserts, but it can still get darn cold.

Take a look at what some of what UT has experienced on his great southwest journey and you'll see that there are simply no guarantees this time of year. Particularly if you're looking for a pool and "pool weather".....you should be thinking Arizona (but not in the mountains), Texas, Gulf Coast USA, Florida. It would probably be about a perfect time to take in some of the great parks in Utah, but the weather is still going to be hit or miss.....could be 80* one day and snowing the next.

Come to Georgia! We have great parks and we love to camp in March. Wish we would have made it this year ...
