Was working on the pop-up and glanced up in the trees. This is what greated me. IMG_20200909_170844__02.jpg Close up of one. IMG_20200909_171100.jpg Seems that our area has been inundated with Yellow Garden spiders.

Wish I had a load of those in my yard. Maybe they'd catch and eat some of the lanternflies.

Too close to my front door for my liking. I usally leave spiders alone. But that thing looks mean.

When you live in Georgia you get used to the big spiders in the fall! I always have to tell my "bug" guy to leave the webs alone unless they are in a doorway. My motto is "Be Nice to Spiders and they will eat your other pests"!

You see those a lot in the coastal state parks here in the South.

Im not sure whats going on around here but it seems the amount of spider poop (or what I think is spider poop) is EVERYWHERE this year. My outside A/C unit is covered in tiny black dots, the underside of the eves, and even my deck is covered in black dots. Ive never seen it like this.

    Just saw this old thread.
We were guest merchants one Memorial Day weekend at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival (Before it was changed to an autumn event). There were hordes of daddy Long legs all over in the area where we had our booth. We were reassured that they were good because they eat brown recluse spiders. It was unseasonably hot for Memorial Day Weekend so we had rolled up the walls of our tent to get as much air as possible. At the end of the day, one of the girls who came along with us unrolled the wall to have 6 or 8 of them fall on to her sweaty/sticky arms. We came home from that event with the phrase "Eww! -Nature! Get it off! Get it off!"
