Funny thing is, DD's going to college a half hour further in the woods from where my DW grew up in Maine. DW couldn't wait to get out of Maine when she was college age. DD just loves it there..

I understand, Stormtrooper. I'll be taking my DS back the Sun before FC. Funny thing is, his school is only about 30 mins from there.

Twstpear, so you'll be bringing your new Pal to the Rally? Cool! In 3 yrs, I have never been in a campground with another Stampede. I've only really seen about 5 on the road in all that time, too.

It's that time of yr again; salamander & frog crossing time. Just giving everyone a heads up. If the conditions are just right like they were Thurs night (dark, wet, & just warm enough), there is a possibility that the south entrance to FC may be closed to allow the critters to safely cross the road to the vernal pool. If that's the case, just continue up Rt 345 to the north entrance & enter from there.

I was at French Creek this weekend. I had the only trailer in the campground. There were 5 other sites taken. 4 tents and 1 with two people sleeping in the open, on the ground wrapped up in blankets and afghans. I enjoyed my camper and the beautiful weather that I had. Well the wind was very strong on the drive in, but after that stopped it was very nice. Can't wait to go back next month. I hope they clean the showers between now and then. I don't think they were cleaned since I was there in January. [:(O]

It is sad that they don't take better care of the bath houses. I was there over Thanksgiving one year and there wasn't any toilet paper in the woman's bathroom. With only 4 state park campgrounds open this winter, it would be nice if they cleaned the bathroom once in a while. [:(O]

Good thing too... we haven't touched the 12V system! The new power inverter is in it's box! I may bring it with us... if anyone (HINT) would like to give us (ME) some pointers (HELP) in installing it I would be thankful (GREATFUL, PRAISE THE GROUND YOU TROD, IN AWE... You get it) Hopefully we won't have too many issues... lots didn't get done after our last trip and now we gotta SCRAMBLE!

I would think that you will have a whole campground full of helps. I make look a bit like the scene in the movie RV where Robin Williams is trying to hookup the black-water at the dump station. [LOL] [LOL] [LOL]

B-Loop is not open but call the office and see if they can do something for you. Also, C-19 and C-34 are available and if you ask Coachman114 (in C-17) or mommy2jx3 (in C-36) maybe one of them would be willing to share their electric. If so then bring a camo extension cord with you. [LOL]

One other option may be the host site. I don't think that is used until April so ask the Ranger.

busdriverwc75: I somehow skipped over your post until now.

Yes, we'll definitely be bringing the Palomino it for its inaugural trip. So far, only DS#2 and I have stayed overnight in it at Camp Driveway, so it'll be nice to actually go somewhere. With about 8 weekend trips (FC included) between now and September, we'll definitely be putting it to good use.

I can't say I've ever seen another Stampede, but then again, you never really notice how many other cars are just like your next one until you buy it.

Just checked the long-range forecast. Looks P/C and dry for the weekend, mid 50's highs, mid 30's lows. Let's rock.
