Anyone have any experience here?
Did not stay here, but drove through checking it out for future reference. It's a new CG. Shade is sparse, but facilities are new. No store for miles around if you go, go prepared as supplies are miles away.
Green River state Park near Campbellsville ky and there is also Hillman ferry campground at LBL and there is Mammoth Cave
Guys I live less than five minutes from taylorsville lake state park CG it's amazing all facilities are new lots of trails lots of wildlife shade is sparse but we be never had it be an issue and there is a store less than 2 min up the road and taylorsville has grocery and all kinds of other stores less than 6 miles away very quiet and peaceful campground
This is where we go, usually we stay in the 1-10 loop since we can stay basically at camp and see the kids on the playground and the bathhouse is just right there as well.... the rangers are great we stay every spring break in #5 the ranger is always messing with us in a good way cause it was COLD and the electric heater wasn't getting it HAHA I think it got down to 16 one night and we about froze but we made it...... with 2 kids and a dog LOL if u go into to town there is everything from a taco bell to a country mart
The trails are great only down fall isd they are shared with horses so they are a little beat up but the wildlife is super to see..
Thanks for the feedback
I have driven through a couple of times - we use the boat ramp near the campground on a nearly weekly basis....we plan on making a trial run at that CG in a couple of weeks.
Have you stayed here yet? We have booked a weekend in May, we have never been here either. Just wondering what your experience was like if you had. Also, everyone talks about the wildlife, what are we talking about?
I think we may stay there next weekend....might drag the boat out there as well!
Anyone been there this year?
One big bird, His Chick, and two hachlings.
We went in May, 8-11. Sites are gravel, tiny grave, but nice and big! We stayed by the playground as we had 4 kids with us from 1 1/2 - 10 years old. Bathhouse facilities are nice. Like previous post, the closet store was about 30 minutes away. We had a great time. Luckily it wasn't hot...
Just went this summer. The town of Taylorsville is only 6 miles away with a few fast food places and a grocery. It's a very nice park and the bath house is exceptionally clean. The sites are not close to the lake though. But this little park is a nice quiet clean place. Hope this info helps anyone considering the park.
