Testing my brand new fast wide angle lens, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II
Took these last night 1:50am thru 5:30 am, approx 570 images.
Mostly clear night with a few stray clouds, taken on my Canon 70D, 11mm, f 2.8, 20 sec, ISO 1600.
Taken with Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II at 11mm, a very sharp optical lens.

Wish I had this for big 3 week trip, oh well I need to learn it's abilities so next time in dark-dark skies I can use it successfully.

1st meteor showed up around 1:58am, the image is slightly bright because the moon has not set below the horizon yet (moonset was 2:15am)

    2nd meteor taken approx 4am

3rd Meteor top RH, 5:25am, the image is bright because dawn is coming soon

This was taken at ISO 12,800 , 20 sec f2.8 it's very dark yet the camera and high ISO makes this seem like daylight.
This was just a test of high ISO ability of the 70D and sharp focus of the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II

Nice results. I've been looking at wides, need to add this one to my list, esp. for the price.

I've looked at this lens for 2+ years, others have raved about it, and now wish I had NOT just looked at it but bought it.
The step up in sharpness from my pretty decent Canon 15-85mm I was not prepared for.
Plus on a crop sensor from 15mm to 11mm is huge impact for wide angle photography.

Guess we will need to plan on a camping trip to dark skies soon [:D]
