Not really sure on drive time but that sounds close enough.
I will check Google maps. I think if you take 45 to new eaverlr exit and drive thru new waverly to cold spring

I’m in site #14 with a possible family of tent campers if you remember Ryanncc and family from last Goliad Rally 2017. Hope they can make it.

Yay new folks! No lock on park. Usually an all night security. Just drive on in to site you reserve and check in the morning by 9:00.

Thank you Txbum for offering to bake your own cake! So I guess I’ll take this one on as wagonmaster since it’s probably my turn in the barrel. Theme is Birthday Party! So, gather up the decorations, party favors, silly hats, and old, dumb T-shirt’s. Everybody has one, so everybody can join in!

Remember these shots from last year?

I’ll try to get it own as a “Rally” thread. Richard, you may have to help!

Katskamper, thank you for offering a spare bedroom! We also bring spare items just in case. This is a great park. Super well kept, clean, quiet, heck the park even has trash pick up at each site!....

Ugh..we're out for this one..Already spending 5 nights north of Abilene over Labor Day weekend and have Sept 21-24 planned for Canyon Lake for Sam's 4th birthday. It'll be too hard to squeeze another weekend into September with it being 4.5hrs away.
If the Fall or Winter Rallies come back west then we'll plan for those.

fall rally? like November?
that i could do!

school has me teaching 5 classses in October (im working on my birthday,) so no traveling for me in October. i will be in submarine mode all month.
but the $$$$$ is going to be nice!.

i would LOVE a fun Thanksgiving trip. i get 4 whole days off. Thurs thru Sunday.
how far west? davis mountains?
we group cook dinner there?
i could borrow my BIL’s turkey roaster - if its here & not in colorado w them.
i have the campchef oven.
.and xtra stoves.
and a fry-daddy grill

me, i liked the turkey cooked in the ROASTER better than a oil fryer. roaster runs on propane. sq box oven. (that he put together with my GIRLIE flowery tool kit because he didn’t pack his macho mechanic tools that Thanksgiving! )

my 3cents.

We tried for an Inks Lake Rally last Spring , but absolutely no interest.

I know planning is hard. That’s what make Wolfcreek unique. Their reservation window is only 60 days out, so everyone has a pretty good shot of making plans in that short window and an even shot at getting close together.
If you can find another campground near you guys and want to start a rally for later, please consider it. I belong to another group that meets monthly and I camp a lot on my own, so a little planning ahead is necessary, but I do like trying new places.

Sorry we'll miss out on this campout but will watch for future ones since we're all nearly neighbors. You sound like a fun group. Y'all have fun and hope for good weather.

Dear Katskamper,
You sound very enthusiastic and teacherish! So... can we put you in charge of crafts? My suggestion is keep it simple for a wide range of ages (3-15), low cost (we don't charge for supplies, but will help you gather what we can), and quick (we usually can keep their interests for up to 30 minutes).

Are you ok with this? We can get a head count as we get closer and designate a time on the schedule for Sat (usually after breakfast or lunchtime). If you can work our "birthday party" theme in, all the better!

hey! i resemble that remark. “teacherish”
how many kids.?

Parents chime in:

easy for all ages:
a. yarn “ojo de Dios” eye of God.
supplies: 2 sticks (dowels or found sticks) and
lots of yarn in asstd colors. (leftovers.) yarn acquired

(i gave moms 15 bucket stash to her church & i dont knit or crochet)

b. “tye dye” t-shirts.
byo shirts? i will bring dyes, paints, stencils.
need some styrofoam egg cartons for dipping - cut in half for 6 colors

c. (for older kids) semi practical: egg carton sawdust firestarters
supplies: cedar shavings ( hamster cage filler)
paper egg cartons
candle wax (i have some on hand.)
