In lieu of the title of this thread being changed from "Chinese Virus Inspired RV Sales boom" for rubbing certain snowflake types the wrong way evidently, as I had received a PM shortly after posting asking me to change it which I ignored and am sure she screamed bloody murder to Steve about it, thats all fine and dandy....... thread starting post deleted. This damn virus originated in China by the way, and Lyme disease was identified in Lyme CT. Perhaps we should call it Deer Tick Spittle Syndrome in the spirit of Kumbaya? Sure would hate to hurt feelings in Lyme CT.

Yeah, I agree. Right now, intrastate travel is the only option. So folks not normally interested in RVs are looking at "sleeping in my own bed and having my own bathroom" as a way to escape. But, once other options come back on line (and they will), those fringe RV owners will be searching for cheap places to store them, or quick sales to recoup the TOP dollar price they paid these months.

I hate all the ads on TV that says; "We're all in this together..." or some such. I tell them to stuff it and hit the mute button. It's just a new gimmick to sell stuff. Do I have to say that I hate TV ads? We record 99% of everything we watch. That way I can fast forward through them.

My "favorite" slogan now is "...these uncertain times." I abbreviate it TUT. It's actually vacant of meaning, but seems to fit.

In these uncertain times, Kellogg's. Now, more than ever. We're all in this together.

See? Works, right? Yet somehow, it actually says and means nothing.

One of my sons has been using that tag line jokingly, for a couple months now, after he says different things. It's annoying on advertisements, but funny when he says it. I'm going to have to share "TUT" with him. That makes it even funnier.

I see a lot of ads for new and relatively new huge campers for sale (over 33' box). People bought then found out:
A) they can't tow with what they have
B) can't get into the parks, or sites, they want because it just too big
C) Can't go camping anyway/isn't fun anymore
D) No place to store the beast

My friend went out last week and bought a good size TT. I suspect he's not alone. Lots of reason people are doing it. For them it was just some reflection on priorities, the age of their kids etc.

It will be good for the used market in a year or two..

Hmm, wonder if this extends to the used market also. Great time to sell, not to buy?

I predict a delayed surge in transmission repair this fall. Folks will hitch up, overload the transmission, cook it to death, and need to repair or replace this fall.

Towing is hard on the trans for sure. In my friend's case he's an extremely talented mechanic with decades as a pro and is well equipped to judge these things.

My wife is on a WV camping FB page.
So many posts on there about "can I get my 38ft TT into this remote campsite?"

No, you can't.
Then it devolves into whining about how the road in shouldn't be that tight, should be fixed/widened, and so on.
This is why I have a pop up, and why I won't get anything over about 24 ft ever.

A bad day camping beats a good day at the office
Or the ones that move near an airport and then complain about the noise!

Someone was complaining about train noise at their house. They got their ass handed to them by just about everyone else in the thread, pointing out that that rail line had been there nearly 150 years and their neighborhood about 20.

Thanks for calling me a snowflake. I PM'd you because I didn't want to create a scene, but I guess you prefer it that way.

Yes, it started in China. As I explained in the PM, all these flus originate in Asia. There is a cycle they follow. Your calling it "the Chinese Virus" is nothing but tacky and racist.

And FYI, I did not contact Steve. I PM'd you politely asking you not to call it that and left it to you to decide what yiu would do. Your response was to ignore me - fine. I left it at that. And now you choose to insult me in public.

Your attitude is what is wrong with this world.

Because you have a differing opinion than the OP gives you no right to demand he change his words..

Racist? LOL..............May I suggest laying off CNN and MSNBC so much. Anyway thanks for the advice. I'll take it under advisement. Not really. Perhaps you should work on thickening your skin a little?

Insult you in public?.....I don't recall mentioning you by name, you threw that out there yourself. Yes, this virus originated in China. Legionaires disease was identified in Philadelphia at an American Legion convention. I guess I am also racist towards Philly and the American Legion lol.
