Our 2009 Viking has the thermostat in the leg area of the dining bunk and it sticks out and gets banged around a lot. Is there a place to buy one of the inserts to recess the thermostat to be flush with the rest of the bunk?

If you call a dealer you could ask. I am sure you can get one, but I haven't located the combination of words to find an online seller to buy one from.

Seems like it would be very easy to make one. You could use masonite, 1/4 in plywood or Lexan and glue it together.

We made a similar recess for the fire extinguisher on our first popup, out of wood. We abandoned the thermostat niche on our Coleman though - it was difficult for me to reach, and moving it to the counter reduced the temperature swing by a huge amount. At the same time we added a plug/long wire so it would reach the counter, and changed to a digital 'stat with a momentary back-light.
