So I'm guessing these loose wires are why my thetford cassette toilet doesn't flush. Can anyone help me learn where to run those wires to power? Just bought this '08 Starcraft 2406. Previous owner says he never used the toilet. Any ideas would be much appreciated. thx! thetford.jpg

Anywhere you can conveniently pick up + - 12 vdc.

Indeed. I was hoping someone might know where that is on a pop up such as this.

I'd be inclined to pick up the +/- 12 vdc where it feeds the fridge as you'd never be running the fridge on 12 vdc anytime you're camping and would want to use the cassette toilet. In the case of your Starcraft 2406 the fridge is on the opposite side from the toilet but you could run the toilet wires down through the floor, along the underside of the trailer floor, and back up to the rear of the fridge where you'd tap into the +/- 12 vdc. I did exactly this when I installed a car stereo in our Santa Fe and needed +/- 12vdc to power it.

The wiring for your toilet will be red is the power wire (+) and the black is the negative (-) ........ Now this may sound odd, but you will connect the red wire to a black 12 powered wire of the camper and the black toilet wire to a white camper ground wiring. When you get all done and your toilet works .....mark the toilet wires (+) and (-) ............ if it was me I would cut off as much of the wrong color wires as I could.

It looks like there is some white wire right there, under the gloves.

Oh, you mean this white wire? Bear with me, I'm new at this. Is this a 12V I can splice into?

Thanks for the info! It's always nice to think I might do it correctly the first time if I ask enough questions.

Thanks GreyFox! That sounds a little tricky, but is a great idea. I might try that.

A few years ago I installed an inverter in our travel trailer's front pass through cargo compartment and wired it's 120 vac output to duplex receptacles on each side of the bed and one at the galley. To get to the galley area I ran the cable along the underside of the trailer floor so I enclosed it in protective tubing.

However you can also buy less costly convoluted split loom tubing that's made to keep wires together and protect them from abrasion. :)

Just a thought, where do those wires go? You did confirm that they come from the pump right? If not they might be the power wires.

I don't know what the wires are. Sorry, no confirmation of anything. They seem to run the length of the toilet frame that is visible from the outside access hatch.

Those might be your power wires coming in. You need to remove the pump from the tolet and then see if it works. I think someone probably removed the pump and left the wires in anticipation of replacing it? Maybe anyway. Who knows. Mine had a hand pump, lol.

Oh my, no! That's much bigger than it looked in the first photo. Yikes! I don't know what it is, but definitely not what you're looking for.

Our cassette toilet is manual flush, so I have no idea what what kind of wires are behind the electric flush models. If I had electric flush, I would sure go out and poke around for you.

I don’t want anyone to go poking around their toilets on my behalf, lol
