    Noisy...Unattended barking dogs...Packed campground...dirty bathrooms.
    people driving the wrong way.
Had fun but could have been better....I am gonna rethink my strategy from here on out.

My first two weekends camping were similar. If your schedule allows it, maybe you can look at working on weekends and camping during the week.

I have some more remote campgrounds not close to big cities in mind as well as a couple
trips planned during the week so i can be gone by weekend rush.

This year the weekends are more like a holiday weekend while camping. Way too many desperate people wanting to get out. It's even very tough trying to find an opening at campgrounds I can almost always get a spot. It's nuts. Sadly I'm stuck with weekends this year.

I would not be surprised if the campgrounds that are open close once again.
With all the virus spiking talk...It is a possibility.
My state are easing restrictions more and more but from what i seen this weekend
You would think the campgrounds were the only things open.

This is why I commented before that opening the campgrounds before other activities was going to backfire.

People are desperate to get out and do things. They can't go to the movies, malls, walmart, etc. for entertainment like they did before, so they are going camping. And they don't know/understand/care about campground ettiquete.

We try to camp during the week also. The weekenders can be noisy.

Off topic, but wow, that fourth picture of the all black dog made me do a double take. One of my dogs looks exactly like that dog, down to the ears and expression. If curious, loud, and friendly, would be a doppelganger.

Sad to hear that the inconsideration of others made your trip less enjoyable than it should have been. Hopefully the next trip is better.

As we are retired, we also prefer to do weekdays unless we are camping with our children and the grand kids. Since NYS opened their state and DEC campgrounds I attempted to make weekday reservations and found a surprisingly high volume of campsites already reserved with only a handful of sites available for June/July. I was able to get a couple of reservations, one place only had 10 sites out of 100+ sites open for a Monday-Thursday window. Fortunately, we made our August reservations last November. With RV/campers selling hot its crazy and don't even try and call your local dealer with a question or for service all you get is a recording to leave your number. Its been over 2 weeks and no call back yet.

All the bikes and parts are sold out and the fishing gear is severely picked over as well. Tried to get some new wheels for my old MTB...no go. Went to Bass Pro looking for a new reel for Mike...no go. :(

Baker Park Reserve is a large park just west of the Twin Cities. We camp there every year at least once as it's very close, probably 15 miles from our house, if even.

They have a lot of sites closed all season due to COVID. They aren't that close... I assume this has to do more with overall capacity than it does social distancing between sites.

We noticed the day use areas were very busy. The parking lots were quite full... sometimes you might see a dozen or less cars in the main lots but this time was maybe 100.
