I just wanted to share a couple experiences from camping growing up. True, I don't recall ever having a "bear accounter of the third kind", but being mostly that we camped at Assateague SP, we had horse trouble, lol. I remember one morning waking up to my mom calling to my dad "there's a horse in our screen house". Sure enough, a loaf of bread left on the picnic table lured a horse to our site, where it proceeded to chew right threw the screen, my mom awoke to see the front half of the beast inside the screened house, lesson learned. Another camping trip, it was at Shad's Landing SP, my mom had brought delicious brownies, my dad says "just one around, save some for another day" Yea right, more like save some for the raccoons, those horrid tricksters opened the tupperware container, containing these brownies left on the picnic table, in the screen house, lesson learned. (At least that's what our parents told us,lol)
Yep you got to watch them, one of the camper at a rally at went to this pass June was keep in his camper after supper by a raccoon took another camper next to him to get the raccoon to leave.
Not just sweets their after either. I've had shoes disappear and eaten that I left outside the door, presumably for the salt.
