Had our eye on a co-workers hybrid he was selling. After several weeks of deliberation, we went for it and upgraded. Bought it on Friday and on Sunday sold the PU.
Now time for new adventures to begin!

Congratulations! It's a nice looking camper. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Any interior pictures?

Thanks! @Shelmily - not yet on the interior pictures. A few on going projects around the house has kept my attention on other things over the weekend. But I'll get some pics to share soon. Hopefully tonight.

The 235 was a great floorplan, especially for kitchen counterspace.
but I hope it doesn't have the infamous Thermarest tent ends!

I had to google that! According to the results, the Thermarest ends are bright yellow and white ?
Why what wrong with them ?

And NO, it doesn't have that style.

They sloped back towards the camper at the top. About half of the water on the tent in a rainstorm would run back towards the camper, then down the seam where the tent attaches to the bunk door frame. At the bottom it would overload the design and make its way into the camper. The hinge on your Kodiak is designed to be self draining (out of the ends). The Thermarest tents caused more water to find its way there than the system was designed for.

Its complicated because the doors /tents are an assembly made by a vendor, LCI. The hinge designs changed over time, and so did details in the Thermarest ends. There are campers still out there with Thermarest ends that never had a problem, and ones that were a total disaster. It all depends on the specific year, the Thermarest design at the time, and hinge design at the time.

    Great explanation, OG.
The Aerolite Cub line was a twin brand of the Kodiak hybrid and came with blue and white Thermarest tent ends.
they both also came with futon style mattresses, which were hated even more than the Thermarest ends.

At that time, Dutchmen was the only company doing innovative things with hybrids. But the Thermarest and futon issues gave the Kodiak and Cub hybrids such a bad rep, the brands never recovered.
Dutchmen cut the number of floorplans by more than half and neither brand has been a player in the hybrid market since.

Very Jealous! I would love to move to the grey side but sadly our Dodge Grand Caravan can only handle a PUP.
