I have a 2014 Sonata and want to put a hitch on and get a pop up. Does anyone tow with a Sonata or a similar sedan? User manual of course says towing not recommended. My research is showing tow capacity of 2000lbs. I am looking at a 1995 Coleman Royale that weighs 1295 with hitch weight of 125.

I need some experienced feedback please

Add all the extras into the pop up and you will find its a lot heavier then that weight. I will say probably not a good idea.

I'd go with the manual recommendation.

Probably not no. It's not just the weight, its the jarring and back and forth movement of the camper that is hard on the tow vehicle. With how scarce vehicles are these days, take good care of yours and find a tow vehicle and camper later down the road. Or possibly if you can find a motorcycle camper, maybe that will work.
