Heard this on the radio the other day, and tried it over the weekend. DH loved them, I liked them, but to me, there were different when what my mouth expected when I was thinking s'mores. So here goes:

Melt Marshmallows, put between 2 fudge striped shortbread cookies.

We've made them this way for years! I like them better than regular s'mores. Less mess and fuss, too!

    We do Mexican s'mores

    Flour tortilla
    Peanut butter
    Hershey's chocolate
    Marshmallows
Roll like a burrito and wrap in foil place on hot coals 5 mins.
    Enjoy!

DW tried this last trip and loved it: replace chocolate with peanut butter. So it's graham cracker, marshmallow, and peanut butter.

best of both worlds = Reese's Peanut Butter Bar (http://www.sugarstand.com/images/wt/wt003400044262.jpg) instead of just choc or just PB :) We were shown this two weeks ago...never going back to just choc.

Not being a big fan of graham crackers, I love using the fudge striped cookies. I will often substitute shortbread cookies for the graham crackers.

I had heard of doing the Peeps smores, but I just buy the cheap chocolate covered graham crackers at the dollar store to do them. It makes it a little easier and one less ingredient. [:)C]

I just watched a cable show last week where they made Banana Boats. Craig and I just looked at each other during the commercial, wondering WTH we were about to see! It was incredibly easy and fast!

They took a whole banana IN the peel, sliced it about 3/4 of the way through, and then stuffed mini marshmallows, chocolate chips and crumbled graham crackers (for each kid's likes). Try your best to squeeze the stuff down into the banana and it's skin. Wrap it in foil, set it on the fire grate for about 5 mins and presto...the peel acts as the bowl and the foil should catch crumbs!

I'm sure I'd need to start shooting up insulin if I ate one of those things, but it looked DELISH!!!

If anyone tries this, please take photos before and after heating and let us enjoy it with you! [A]

I'm with you on that, RotnMom! I'd be in a diabetic coma for sure, but would love just to help make them for my crew.

Oh my latest favorite snack is Graham crackers spread one side with Nutella and the other with marshmallow creme and sandwich together. [:)O] Dip in milk and it is almost healthy...carbs, protein and dairy! Especially good when the campground has campfire restrictions.

Hoping to try the banana one on the next trip!

We tried this earlier this year and they looked a lot better than they tasted, I don't think any of us finished it.
