Wow, I just went to ReserveAmerica, and all of my reservations that I had made are gone. I called the Customer Service number, and they assure me once the new system is up and running, they will be able to confirm that my reservations are intact. This makes me really nervous, especially since my Memorial Day plans have been in the works for several months. Don't know what we would do if we don't have a spot and can't go camping in 4 weeks.

My reservations are gone too, but I called the state park and they have them. The good thing about this is, there will be no more $3.00 fee per reservation. The thing that I really hated was if you reserved multiple sites for the same trip, you had to pay the $3.00 for each site although it was all one reservation. I am pretty happy about all this.

As to why, the official news release says it was so that the reservation fee would not have to be charged.

I sure wish they would dump them up here.
Reserve America charges up $9 per reservation. [:(]

Maybe those of us that buy a yearly pass will get some kind of "VIP" status.

Are they still going to charge a daily per person entry fee as well as a campsite fee?

My reservation for Brushy Creek is still there, so it must just be the state parks and not those through recreation.gov.

I called the park after not being able to print the reservation at Reserve America. My credit card had been charged. 'Palo Duro' had the reservation there.

Also the park pass will be issued at the time of purchase at the park. No waiting for the pass to be mailed, 1/2 off coupons usable mediately.

I had a great conversation with a volunteer. Sounds like a cool gig!

The TPWD Online Reservations website is now up: http://texas.reserveworld.com/

My Lost Maples SNA and Palmetto SP reservations that I originally made on Reserve America months ago were automatically transferred over to the new site.

Mine have been moved to the new system as well. I used the new system the first day and had some issues with it. It does not have a park map like reserve america. Maybe that is not such a big deal but I prefer having it there. I also had some trouble making reservations. It kept giving me errors and finally the sites were no longer available. They showed up in my email the next day as confirmed. So far I do not like the new system as much as I like reserve america. It's nice to not have the $3 fee but I personally like the old system better.

The 2 week availability 'look' was nice.

    I have a $3 credit with TPWD!
