Pics are up at CampsitePhotos.com!!! Now you can take a look at each of the sites before deciding which one to reserve! Let me know if you have questions about the sites and I will do my best to answer them. Going back in September for another stay!

North Bend is where you could say I cut my teeth when it comes to camping both in tents and Pop ups. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good camp ground with good swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, nature, etc, etc.

Thanks for the link. I have been wanting to try that place for a while now. How booked do they get usually, any idea? Meaning how likely would I get a site for a larger popup if I only give less than a week notice?

Hi KJ, Thanks for the great pics.
The Army Corps of Enginners certainly did this recreation facility perfect. They built the dam for flood control and conservation and spent a good of additional monies to benifit us recreation campers. Wish I was closer to get there from AZ.
ACOE is a great gov't agency.

Glad to get reacquainted again with I85 and US58 Camp sites along the Roanoke RIver.... My OFF-ROAD POPUP camper would look right at home down that way...

My camping has been for the most part up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway in VA/NC along I81 and back behind Harrisonburg VA along the VA/WVA wooded state line.

The reservoir down on the VA/NC line is superb for sure... Been there a couple of times years back doing some Tent camping but it wasn't at North Bend..... That whole Kerr Reservoir /Roanoke River Lake on the VA side is filled in with nice lake front camping sites for Tent camping and Trailer camping with hookups...

Gonna have to run down that way again soon... Been scrolling though alot of photos on-line from that area...

Thanks KJcachers. We drove through there. It's nice to have some photos of the site. Longwood COE is where we ended up staying though. It's not bad, but it has some twisty roads.

One of our favorite places to go. We're heading there the week before Memorial Day. Can't wait.

When you think your ready to go to North Bend let us know. Me and my soon to be wife will meet up with y'all. We live about a half hour south of the CG on the NC side. Warrenton NC to be exact.
