We camped this August at Tall Pines Harbor campground in Temperanceville VA.

The campground is very well run, the owners and staff are super-nice. It's a little off the beaten path, but not crazy out of the way. Food Lion is about 10 mins away and a Wal-Mart is about 20 mins away. Its a little over an hour to Ocean City MD. The campground just minutes away from Chincoteague and Assateague Island. The new bathhouse is immaculate; super clean, new washers and dryers. The rates are reasonable. No daily planned activities per-Se, but weekends usually have a theme of some sort. There is a small pool, and a small beach. Waterfront sites are primarily primitive. Golf carts are allowed, and rentals available, they are not crazy crowded with them though. Ice is reasonably priced at $2 for an 8lb bag.
If we found one down side, the mosquito's were definitely there. The campground did spray for them, but you did need to keep yourself sprayed.
Another cool thing about the campground, you can watch sunrises and sunsets.
All in all it was a great week. Would definitely recommend.

I know this is an old post, but we recently made reservations to stay here in July with 2 other families. Looking at the web page, it looks like a nice place, rates are now close to $50/night for full hook-ups, which isn't too bad.
