Thanks EVERYONE for your thoughts and suggestions - I heard about registration and you are right @jmkay1 , who would think of all these rules regarding something that doesn't seem as used as a motor vehicle!
I do like @GandD suggestion and I wish I could click 'Like' button more than once for the pictures, it looks really nice!

Thanks again, you all!

@phoodieman i had a kayak buddy who bought something similar. He did permanent damage to his rotator cuff and he could no longer kayak the normal way. Well quitting kayaking was out of the question so he went to the foot pedal system. He got around faster with that than any of us in a regular kayak. It was cool looking and like he said it got him out on the water. I’m glad you brought it up as I wanted to look into that.

When you are thinking of costs, please don't forget PFDs for everyone.

(There are 4 of us, and we have 1 Sea Eagle 370, 2 Sevylor Tahiti Classics, and a Windglider sailboard — all inflatable. They are not the fastest on the water, but the work for us, and fit in either the minivan or the pup.)

Just for anyone else considering the 2 person inflatables. My sea eagal is still going strong. Its old. I did pick up a intex k2 for 80 bucks on Amazon. It works but its not as nice as the sea eagle. The sea eagal has thicker shell, and is stiff when you sit in it. The sea eagal also tracks better. Both work but if you have a choice spend the extra bucks for the sea eagal.

I got the sevylor tahiti inflatable kayak. Not good.. Does not tract ..loose total control in wind... Bends like a banana with water pouring in the side at the recommended amount of air. If you want a kayak buy a real one.

We bought the skegs for the Sevylor kayaks, and it helps with the tracking.
We have the mostly for fun – – we don’t do long kayak trips with them.
