We camped with some friends this weekend. Somebody suggested that we have a DO cooking contest. There were no rules, no prize and no formal judging. It was perfect. The first pic is a pork shoulder that became pulled pork after 7 hours in the DO. It was wonderful. The second pic shows the DO happily doing its job. That may seem like a lot of coals on top, but it was a cool day and I wanted to brown the pork before the slow cooking started. The last pic shows one of three cobblers that we made. No one went away hungry. There was no formal judging, but the winner was a pork adobo that was amazing. The DO will be getting more use as the season gets going. Cheers!
