My 4 year old just woke up (it’s nearly 8 am! Score! He’s usually up by 6:30 in the house).

First he said he can’t tell what time it is in the trailer and if it’s time to wake up. So we should get an alarm clock.

Then he informed me, “It would be funner if we had a slide to get down from the bed. We need a slide.” We have a step stool for him to get off the bunk end. [LOL] Love this kid.

You know my brain went there at first! “Let’s see, what material could we use and where would we store it?” [RTM]

3/4" plywood with a plastic sheet laminated to it. Some 1" cleats on sides and one end to hook at top. Quick and easy.

Oh my gosh. When things quiet down I may just have to try this. He would be over the moon. He is constantly trying to make everything into a slide.

I can just see it now. Don't forget you would need a slide from the bunk end to outside ground too for the fun of it. Though sleeping would be far from their mind if they know they are in their own personal playground. [LOL] My dogs always used it as their personal jungle gym. In a way I kind of miss that age. I'm now in the age of the eye roll.

    Thin a 1
1" strip of wood running down each side and across the top. On the underside of the "slide"

Love it! I was thinking that, too. Well, repositioning it so they could slide out the door. I don’t feel like messing with the canvas. Plus, sliding from the bunk end to the floor is low enough that they couldn’t really get it injured.

Got it! I can picture that. Especially because I’ve been considering making one for his low loft bed at home.

Pictures are now required upon completion. You've crossed the design threshold; there's no going back now....

First I have to consult the time and financial budget.

How about something like this, just pushed up to the bunk? You could move it outside during the day.

Or just remove the slide part and rig something to attach it to on the bunk, then could store on the bunk during the day. Seems much cheaper and easier than trying to build something.

That is a cute idea except that it won’t store flat for transport.

True, it would have to go in a trunk, back of truck, or van.

Yep! It would be more fun with a slide.

We built a slide for our kids using plywood covered with plastic laminate (kitchen countertop material)....it was in the backyard, not in the popup though. Perhaps you can make it do double duty as a table top when it's not being used as a slide.

Oh my heavens. I was searching through our classifieds for outdoor equipment and found this. I’m pretty darn sure the slide is not for that pup, but it still made me laugh. I’m kinda sad I never did make a slide for the pup and now with the travel trailer it wouldn’t work. But it was fun going down Memory Lane remembering my conversation with my son. Now I just wish I knew how to rig up a hammock without too much framework to store.
