Weird thing on the ceiling!!!

OK...1995, Palomino Filly, standing at the door, long bed to my right.

Just outside the sleeping area, on the ceiling, there is a drop down 'thingy'. Whatever was supposed to be there is gone, just the mount remains.

Anyone got a clue as to what is supposed to be there?

Photo would be helpful. Some campers had organizers that had attachment points, and I’m sure there have been other items over many years, brands, and models.

Hard to say for sure without a picture but my guess is, it's the fold down clothes hanger/towel rod

Agree with prior suggestions that it is a place to hang clothes. My 1991 Jayco 1206 had the same thing. We often used it to dry towels on a coat hanger indoors when necessary.

I have something similar, looks like a rectangular handle that can come out of the bracket? I assumed for clothes hangers?

Yes! Leave a few hangers in the pup to hang your light coats or whatnot.
