yep! it's time and we're going [:D] this coming Saturday and Sunday, returning home on Monday.

We have been waiting because of leaking roof that needed repair, getting the pup cleaned inside and outside, checking out all the LP appliances and the 3 way refrigerator to ensure they are in working order including the HW heater, wiring, wheel bearings, tires, plumbing, lights, electrical panel box, any loose nuts- screws- Velcro, charging system, needed a new 12V battery which charges every time I plug in the 30amp cord...not to mention 15" of rain this far in 2020 and gathering what we feel that we need for the trip.

I have removed the awning and aluminum track from the pup because there was water leaking around a few loose screws. I didn't care for the wind load stress that are applied to the awning, track and camper roof (where I live it's a 90 mph wind load in a 3 second gust during a storm), so I will not take that chance on a 15 yr old pup . I covered that track area with etrnabond and I don't plan on putting a new track up or hanging the awning back on. We will purchase a instant up awning to use for now.

Well that's exciting! I hope you have good weather. I live here in Clayton and it's been raining for days! PM me if you have any problems and need some tools. I check this blog in the morning and the night.

Yes, good weather for sure! I track the weather every day @ weather.gov

I use this site almost every day and it's a reliable source for us home builders and pilots- especially the detailed forecast link.

Thanks for the offer to assist me if needed and I appreciate it! and will take you up on that offer if needed.

I like the ez up enclosers. But it depends on what you want. Not my vid, but its that easy if you can fit it somewhere.

Have a great trip and please post pics on your return....

It has been VERY wet thus far in February and we have not been able to get out because of it either. I saw an weather post that Atlanta has had more rain than Portland or Seattle so far this year.

thank you! and we'll post pic no problem.

as a home builder[HH] the weather over the past 7-8 weeks have been brutal and I mean brutal! more than 16'' of rain fall since January 2020 and us home builders have to somehow keep up with scheduling, mud undermining our silt fences and trying to wash into state waters/creeks (which is a HUGE NO NO!!!). We have a bit of a break from the nasty weather for the next 4 days or so and that's why I made the last minute decision get the pup ready to move out this coming Saturday...

have a great sunny weekend! enjoy family, friends and just getting out...the rains return next week:sad: [{}=][{}=]

I understand completely as I’m in homebuilding too. Trying to get foundations started over the past month has been impossible for our team! I definitely know you don’t want any SWPPP violations as those are not cheap. Happy camping!

Well, my wife now LOVES CAMPING! YAY!![:D][:D]
We had a great time and are looking forward to our next camping trip. We are planning to go south of GA for the next trip, possibly Skidaway Island, or along the Florida East Coast.

I need to say that Moccasin Creek CG was beautiful (not too many campers there during our stay. I guess the word hasn't spread about being able to camp there year round) , quiet, clean, neat, bath houses always very clean and well stocked, the CG Host (2) onsite I believe were extremely nice and attentive and took care of the grounds exceptionally. The CG store was nice and titty and the young lady behind the check in counter was so sweet and was a pleasure to talk too. We will return again.

I did post some pics (didn't take many this time) on "What is camping"

Thanks for the update and pics on the "What is Camping" page. I think it was post number 927 on page 47 if anyone else is curious. It looks like a nice place.

Also someone asked about SWPPPs. That's "Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan". This is not ANOTHER pop-up camping acronym we all need to learn....just a short way of saying don't let your construction debris/silt runoff into bodies of water.
