We tow with a 02 Jeep wrangler. It has been lifted 4" and has 33" tires and all the nice off road goodies. We tow our 92 viking 170 with it fully loaded pretty well. little slow on the hills but im in camp mode so it dosent matter! plus the top can come off and it makes for a great exploration vehicle while camping.

see sig. Picked it up about 70 miles away from home and it towed back great. We'll journey further in about 2 weeks and get a real feel of how it pulls.

This must be the oldest post still circulating on PUP.

I had an elderly friend make me a deal I couldn't refuse- We tow with a 1987 DOdge D150. This truck has barely been used, runs and looks awesome. I will tow with anything that can handle the load, but I have to say, I love my Dodge!

    My TV ia an 05 Ranger w/ a 3.0, 4spd. auto 3.73
    rear,trans cooler, it's a 2x4, and I get about
    17mpg towing an 04 Palomino Yearling 4100 that weighs 1708 w/ a full 20lb. lp tank. I'm guessing
about 1900 lbs for a 3 day outing. The Ranger has
no problem at all and the PU tracks great

2006 GMC Envoy 4.2 liter inline 6. 291 horses, AC,XM,moonroof, tinted windows. Pulls my pup and vehicle loaded , I estimate 2000 pounds worth, and still gets 20 mpg doing 70 to 75 on the freeway. I love it. We will see what the new Thule luggage carrier does to the mileage this year. I can only imagine.

I tow with my 06 Ponitac Torrent. Works great. Just got back from a trip to Ohio and didn't have a single problem hauling the camper through some very hilly roads.
