I tow with a 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Package and OEM Tow package, need to know how I can increase the MPG when towing.

If we go within 60 miles of home, we take my 1982 Ford F250 4x4 "The Big Ugly" at <10 mpg. If we go further, we usually use the Caravan. It's not as exciting, but very practical.

I have a 1988 Mazda RX-7 Turbo convertible that I put a 2" receiver hitch on. Hey, it's got the power and the brakes. It was my dream to use it to tow the pup to Put-in-Bay Island, stay at the campground and cruise the island in the vert. But I think the arrival of my son pretty much ruined that one. The Mazda only seats 2 and I can't see us leaving him at home. Oh well. He's worth it... usually.

1984 Rockwood 1206 towed by... whatever vehicle we decide to take.

It's always been a 2001 Ford SuperCrew King Ranch F-150.

But now we just put a hitch on the 2001 Ford E150 Conversion Van but haven't towed with it yet.

The truck is more fun, but the van is more comfortable riding in, so we will see which works out better. Sounds like a great excuse to go on multiple trips!

Tow with a 2000 Pontiac Montana. All fluids changed at recommended intervals. Only oil shes seen is Castrol Syntech and a Fram synthetic filter. The thing is in great shape, no rust and underneath is spotless. I'm big into looking after my belongings.

I've only pulled the new Yearling with her once, but the 3.4 litre V-6 pulled the 2000lb pup with no effort, and on a long hill never downshifted once. And having the extended wheelbase with the Montana, the tow was quite stable.

I tow with a 98 Jeep Cherokee Classic. It has the 4.0 inline 6. It tows my Starcrat with no problem at all, I just need some tow mirrors to see around it a bit better.

    Notice the hidden 2" receiver.

The power, the brakes, and the suspension are ideal for towing. The seating and luggage capacity and the wheelbase are not.
