So every now and then it's fun to do these historical threads. What does your camping history look like, in pictures if possible.

It's a lot of fun. These date back from 2007 but somewhere on here there are threads with pics of mine from back in the early 80's. It's neat to see how things have changed over the years. This is just 12 years worth for me. I didn't have pics of the tent days or the old Krown pup or Florida Camper tent trailer days available this time.

OK, I looked for and found few of our first camper hidden deep in the HD. These are taken in 2008 when we rode the Maah Daah Hey Trail in western ND. Great ride that we'll do again someday. Gee, looking at these brings back fond memories....

My journey wasn't too long, but as most here started out in a tent and worked my way up.

The first popup interior picture is the only picture I have of my old 1990 Jayco. When it died I went back to the tent until I got my current camper bought 6 years ago.

. It was actually at a regional campground down the street from me... Bull Run Regional. Now you mention it, I will have to look into Claytor Lake.

Unfortunately, these don't represent my years of tent camping... just about 2012 to present. The spoiled girl is on her third camper....

I assure you there are many times I wish I still had it. She was 22 years old When I finally sold her, and I still got complements regularly. My girls often times told people that I loved that truck more than I loved them. .

For my current mode of life the pickup does well but that Burb was the ultimate all purpose vehicle when juggling family and utility. Sadly, I wouldn't dare do stuff with today's $80k Burbs that I put that one thru. It taught me a lot of what I know about towing and hauling, etc. Numerous broken shock mounts, spider web cracks in the frame, you name it I did it but the old girl kept going.

I recently moved from Ohio to Virginia and those old trucks are all over the place here. I have told my wife several times to be prepared because she will likely come home one day and find one in my driveway again, maybe even older, and I will have it repainted that very same color.

Looks like an old school canvas dining fly? We used one for many years, been years since I've seen one...

That is very cool, thanks for sharing! I really wish I could find an old Florida Camper like we had growing up. They were made in the 60’s. My wife and kids would never believe I camped in one.

I see old vintage campers pop up on Craig's list from time to time. I was lucky enough to have the old camper passed down from my Dad when he decided he wasn't going to use it anymore. I still haven't come up with a good reason to upgrade from it. It just works for way the I learned to camp from a young age. It's only 550 pounds empty, so I can tow it with practically any car.
