What is the access hatch used for? It looks like it provides access to the connections for the shower. There is no lock on the door. It is just to access the plumbing connections, or is it used for something else?

    Any tips are appreciated.

Looks like an access door to service plumbing if needed.

Hard to tell without more info on the camper, year make model. And pictures of both sides, door closed and open. If i were a betting man i would say it was for an outside shower that was removed, or a hatch added to cover a repair.

Both those are possibilities, I just noticed that the edge of the inside panel isn't trimmed out like it would be if this panel was factory..

I think you said earlier you had a Rockwood 2506G. I believe they had an external shower on the slideout side, just above where the power cord was. If it is in that location I suspect the PO removed it for some reason. The factory door had a keyed lock as well - having a velcro secured door like that would not be a factory install.

My guess is either an outdoor shower was removed there or it provides access to winterize the plumbing. I.e. disconnect and drain lines????

Thanks for your guesses everyone. The outdoor shower is towards the front of the unit and works well. I think this is just an access hole for the shower plumbing. Weird thing it isn't lockable, etc.
