83ED6F6E-4A24-422A-9C5E-BED6CCA6246D.jpeg Hi everyone we just bought a 1995 Coleman Stony Creek and we can’t seem to crank up the top. The crank is turning and hitting the bunkend plywood 9B38ACA3-DBBC-4D28-8EC7-5BD4DDB5E554.jpeg board. I was told I’m missing the cover and metal plate so the whiffletree doesn’t hit the plywood bunkend. I’ve been looking online and even at on the Coleman parts website but they do not sell what I need. Please advise me on where I can purchase it or if I can make something to fix that situation.

watch @ 1:45 showing the cover. how the cover prevents the tree from spinning or hitting the plywood.

The above is what you need. I actually saw it on colemanpopupparts. Although it really only just a Metal plate that screws in on pre drilled holes on the frame. However it also appears you are missing the framing that goes around the wiffletree to hold the cover on.

Perhaps you can get a metal shop to make you the side supports and you can then add a metal cover plate. On our Coleman they measure 2 1/4”. Ours are tack welded so I’m surprised that yours could have fallen off unless they forgot to do it when built. Good luck!

What a strange problem! Looks like it was never on there in the first place! Good luck installing that very important part.

I want to chime in and mention that our 1997 Coleman Cheyenne has the same issue! No pan, no frame for it - nothing!

Im not going to mention how we raise and lower the top because it’s really not safe. We are trying to figure out how to find the parts to fix it too!

It’s such an odd thing to be missing since it’s such an important part of the camper

How will you go about getting it fixed? I’m sure what’s the best and economical way to do it. It’s a few hundred dollars if I went to a fabricator to make it for me. Please share if you have any other ideas.

It looks like you have a system that uses a channel, not a plate attached to welded supports. Check out this part: https://colemanpopupparts.com/products/guide-channel

For anyone out there, I'm missing a cover to a Fleetwood Graphite whiffle tree and plan to make a new one out of sheet metal. Can anyone tell me the gauge or thickness of their whiffle tree cover? Thank you. Cheers. M
