We have a Heilite Valiant. It's very simple in concept but it seems there is always something to fix. I replaced the wiring harness for the trailer lights but then forgot to account for the fact that I needed extra wiring for when the compartments slide out. I had planned to do it this week during my time off but it's been raining cats and dogs in San Diego.

And since it is basically 2 beds and some floor space between, I tried to decorate a little with the bedding.

I learned some tips from the forum and got one of the plastic drawers. On our weeklong trip to Sedona the kids tried to hide indoors from the heat outside. It was 90+ degrees.

Just thought I'd post since we were supposed to go camping this week but the rain foiled our plans.

We have golf cart hubcaps on our Apache. They look awesome!

I am scrapping a 85 Jayco J series 1006 SG. Came across a guy in Ohio who has the same camper in almost mint condition. I noticed on his pictures he did not have the Hubcaps.. I had a set of the original hubcaps on mine (Previous owner was afraid of loosing them while driving down road so he kept them stored under the bench and only put them on when he camped, ooookay...).... Took me a couple weeks but I sent him the hubcaps, all he had to do was pay shipping. He is excited that he now has a complete Retro/Vintage Camper with all Original parts, including the Swamp Cooler.

Nice little camper!!

What area of San Diego? We are down in IB and are planning a trip this weekend!!

We are in East Chula Vista. The rain this last week foiled our plans to camp and then it didn't let up so I couldn't even redo the wiring. I don't know when we will get to camp again.

Last summer we got our '76 Apache Mesa. Went on a 10 trip in the Tennessee mountains where it proceeded to rain for 9 of those days, and loved every minute with our old camper. :)

We are thinking more and more about restoring a vintage trailer, maybe a TT though. It would be a rewarding process, and when we were done with it, it would be a better built unit than the junk produced today.

This is the Pop up I grew up with. It is late 50's early 60's Wright Tent Trailer. Now I have a 93 Coleman.

I am the daughter of John Hill who started Hilltop Campers, he passed away in early 80s. I have a 1974 that I am currently restoring, I was so happy to find one!
