Who is planning on camping this weekend?
No me, the state of New York doesn't want my business. But I understand, its for the best.
I will take any form of camping right now anyway i can get it.
Fla Parks are still closed for camping, many are open for non-camping. To be safe I made reservations at a park for July, hopefully they will all be open for camping by then, meanwhile I will do some upgrades and cleaning on the unit that I ignored for awhile now.
I would but 80+% chance of rain the rest of the week
in 32 hours(5pm CDT) we will be at our site @ our local county campground in Brown County Wisconsin. We have 4 wonderful nights to look forward too. Mid 70s and relatively calm weather predicted. The campground is operating @ half capacity and not accepting walk-ins, reserved only. The laundry, shower, and flushable toilet facilities will be closed. My truck tailgate already has the wood packed and just need to pack the cooler and the front deck of the PUP and we will be on our way.
I fell for that line last week. We canceled our reservation then got nary a drop.
DD and her family are headed to Table Rock (Kimberling City) this weekend. Talked with her last night. They have a pontoon reserved for Sunday and she's worried they may get rained out.
Not us. We tend to only camp on holiday weekends or weeks when we can be miles from big towns, in less accessible places, which works well; we often use Courtenay's holiday off to add to vacation days for a week of camping. North Rim of Grand Canyon has worked a few times.
Here in NM, the state parks are not yet open for camping, and they seem to be party city even in the best of times, let alone when people are sick of being shut in. From the reports I've seen of some of the open national forests, where people can camp at large, ill-behaved is an understatement for some. As much as we'd like to get out and explore, that type of atmosphere is not our thing.
Courtenay will probably hike into the Sandias, he can do that from our house, and has been taking a 5 hours or so hike very other weekend.
Yup. Heading to Flaming Gorge
We are. Going to the exact center of nowhere to camp, and then break out the UTV to go even further into nowhere. I'd say it's going to be quiet, but I know the CG is sold out that weekend, and most Alaskans are itching to get out. Used RV sales are through the roof right now, and folks are getting TOP dollar for whatever tows and casts a shadow.
I have to work
We are. Not where we originally want to, but we found alternate accommodations.
No, not yet...aarrrgg!!!... ... but, we're going canoing Saturday and planning on giving some worms a bath
Not us . My mom's 92 birthday is Sunday. Maybe next weekend.
Happy Birthday Mom!
Will be spending the 3 day weekend at my local county CG.
I'm taking the camper out to a music festival "this festival area is basically level, mowed pasture with plenty of space & room for social distancing. Dry camping ..." Spending the day checking out a lake nearby.
We'll be camping "of sort's" this weekend as we travel to Chamberlain SD to a attend a service there. My mother passed. Some details are on the dogs blog if you care.
