Our new 2017 KZ toy hauler has a satellite antenna on the roof. You dont have to crank it up,its always up. I ran a small piece of coax cable from my led tv to the input on my ceiling marked satellite. I pushed in the button and it lights up red.
I then made sure my tv was switched to cable on the input.

But still no channels...What am I missing? Do I have to pay for satellite tv?

    Thanks for any help

if in deed is a satellite antenna I would think you will have to pay for the service and have a receiver.

I agree with Nandy, you'll need a compatible receiver along with a plan from a provider..

Do you also have a regular tv antenna and booster or just the satellite set up ?

A satellite antenna, seriously? Many toy haulers come with an omni-directional over-the-air antenna which is round.

Find the paper spec sheet on the SATELITTE antenna in your folder of brochures. Maybe get the model number and post it for us to see...

I suspect it is one of those VHF-UHF-FM antennas to pick up OTA signals from your surrounding areas... If it is one of those type antennas I also suspect you will really wished you had the standard crank up BATWING antenna for best performance....

Switch your TV SET MENU to ANTENNA and rescan and you will most likely pickup local NATL BROADCAST OTA digital stations from the local towns...

If you are within 60 miles of TV stations, this inexpensive antenna can get you tons of cartoons, old movies, CBS news, ION, and WGBH/WorldChannel - totally 21 channels the last time I counted. Not that I watch TV that much. It is part of the fun to overcome obstacles in a camp setting.

That is a TV antenna not a satillite ...

As Roy mentioned, set your tv signal input to "Air" (or antenna, what ever you tv lists) and with the signal booster turned on, have the tv re-scan the channels..

You have an omni-directional over the air antenna. It will NEVER receive satellite signals.

    Here is the manual;

Are you too cheap to pay for the universal translator?

Well the one is self explanatory , connect the outside connection to the campground cable feed (yes some of the "resort" places offer cable) and connect the inside cable connection to your tv and set tv source selection to cable.

The other one.. by all of your description it sounds like a tv antenna.. Didn't you get any paper work (manual, brochure etc) for all the accessories in your trailer ?? What did the sales person call it on the walk thru ? Is it possible to post a pic of it ?

It is possible that the manufacture installed a satellite booster instead of a tv booster ..

It's a brand new RV... it almost certainly came with crate of handbooks, which will inform you better than any amount of blind guessing in here

As we say in the engineering trade, "RTFM"...
