New owner as of today! Previous owner told us about it. Where is everyone staying? Is it a state park?

    Welcome Koshea23!
This is a Trinity River Authority Park. It’s beautiful and has everything! Updated restrooms and showers, playground, swimming area, boat launch, fishing pier, volleyball and basketball courts, putt putt, a marina store, etc. rolling hills and Great Lake view! We are staying sites in the circle sites, so far in the second and third one. Sites 12-17 and 21-30. There are sites available 23-28 and 18-19 i believe. But 1-10 are very close. Please let us know if you book and how many adults and kids in your group. More details will be coming.

Thank you for all the info. Is the group all different ages? Or what is average age?

It is all ages! Some of us are retired recently (5 that I know), some still rearing teens and small kids, some with no kiddos, and we include our grandchildren and friends. We have a diverse set of camping vehicles from pop ups to travel trailers, to Rv’s and tents. The wagon masters and helpers plan activities for young and old alike. Once we get more totals and closer to the rally, we will post the details on meals and activities. But there is plenty to do there otherwise and Coldspring is a quaint town 10 min and has shops and restaurants. Some of us go up early (like me) and do a little kayak fishing or just hang out. Sites 26-27 are nice sites as well as any in the first and second circle. I would avoid any that appear to back up to another with your long Sckooly. Number 4 especially. Tonya at office would be helpful with that. I’m happy to answer any questions. This is my favorite camping park and I’ve been going there since early 80s!

Here is the campsite map before reservations.
Sorry for the Sckooly reference. That was someone else asking for info.
Did you by any chance just get your camper from Mark?

I might be able to make it. My son decided to pass on the scouting event scheduled that weekend. However he picked up some heavy practice schedules for Orchestra for their fall trip and competition with band, so we may still not be able to make it. He also requested that we go into town to see some old friends in Houston, so if we do show up it may be that we will be out a good portion of the day on Saturday visiting, and return in time for supper. Need to discuss and get it figured out.

Actually I have never made it to one of the rallies. Got close once but seem to always have something else come up that overrides the trip. The fall tends to be busiest for us anyway.

I hope you make it. This is my favorite park and the group rally enjoys it. Can’t seem to get anyone to take on a rally further west.
Of course East Texas can be hot in summer, so we try to get in right after Labor Day when the busy season is past.

Welcome to new campers, Austin40something, Maria Faith, and Koshea23. Looks like about 10 campsites as of 8/1. I keep adding to my own number. Going to turn the popup over to my girls; daughter, granddaughters, and girlfriends! Russ has a couple of teenage boys in a tent. Gonna be fun you guys! How does homemade ice cream sound? If you have questions, please just ask. If you have suggestions, please make them. This is everybody’s rally!
    Robin
