Site #36 was terrific- right on the River. Great views and since they were “social distancing” sites, no neighbor. The site is right next to site 37, and no trees between, so if we had neighbors would have been a lot less private. It’s right on the campground road, so there was a bit of cars and people walking by- but the view made it a worthwhile spot. We did some hiking, and it was super hot, so we popped over to Turtle Beach, a NPS run site 2 miles down the road to swim. The water felt amazing, but the mud to get in was a bit….deep. Husband didn’t mind the mud, he went barefoot. I almost lost my shoe in it repeatedly. But cold, clear water and not crowded at all.
We enjoyed the campground, but like many- site selection is key. Other than our spot and a handful of others, most were in a wide open field. overall the vibe was mellow and quiet, and there was a lot of great hiking and water activities.
we will be back here, and like sites 36,37 and 77 for privacy and the view!

Going to have to look that up. The view alone would be worth the drive.

The view was amazing morning, noon and especially in the evening. The site nextdoor, #37 actually had a slightly nicer view, and 77 was above us, not right ON the water, but a view and more private.
