Hi Everybody, I have no absolute real-world knowledge of pop-up campers/rv outside of the research I have been doing online, but I am very excited to get one for our little family to share. Would this be something worth the time, money, and effort to fix? Thanks in advance! Listing description says: "Need TLC outside ,interior is really decent , motorized to bring up top works. It dose have a title."
Ok, so looks like crap. Water damage, needs a lot of work. If the tentinf is ok and the ac may bw woth a project. But keep in mind you will have to spend a few grand to fix it.worst case you have a cargo trailer. Its junk, free for parts , if you need them.
In my mind, it would depend on how long the roof has been like that, and what the rest of it looks like, including the inside (water damage, tent condition, etc). Many of us have removed the ABS outer shell of the roof and re-coated it with a roll/spray on truck bed liner (Grizzly Grip, Raptor ,etc). It needs to be addressed, and looks like it should have been done for some time now. Looks like the propane and battery are missing from the A-Frame - not that big a deal if all the connections are there.... It's a project, for sure. The question is how big of a project will it be....
There is no roof gasket and the back panel is allready bowed out. No seal there, you can see the gap. So lots of water inside.
I'd buy and have a fun project to flip. Westlake's are great layout. Again, like the above folks said. It's a project. The positives are there's AC and refrigerator that may be worth something!
the frame could make a good utility trailer. other than that you would have more time, effort and money into the unit that it is worth.
Yeah, if you're looking for a project, it is that. As a camper, I'd pass. I own a '95 Coleman Sequoia which needed somee maintenance and tweaking but no major work. When you look at a camper, ask yourself "Am I looking at a camper or a project?" Let your answer be your guide. Keep looking; good deals are out there!
