Heading to Teton/Yellowstone this summer from Kansas. Want the most scenic route from CO to Tetons...191 or 287? We do have a transmission cooler on our minivan but still don't want to attempt anything too crazy steep.

    Hola Sir

If it was us--- we would take Inter-State 25 North to Casper and then head for US Hwy 287.
The route will have vista's that are Photogenic and the need of your Automatic Transmission Cooler
will never be needed once you leave The Gas Pumps and get back to The Max Speed of your
    Trailer's Tyres ( 65 MPH ).

When taking our Pop Up we get the best fuel mileage going this route.

We are also from Kansas and are tentatively planning a trip to Yellowstone/Tetons this year, but for us it will be the end of August (celebrating DH's mom's 90th birthday in Iowa on the way) into early September. We normally take 191 north from Rock Springs, but we have never done that trip towing a pop-up (just bought our first one 3 weeks ago). I love having the Wind River Range always looming to the right, and the approach from the south into the Tetons is breathtaking.

189 is very pretty and not steep.
