Yet, another Bal question. 12" tires

I am about ready to pull the trigger on a bal leveler. However, the site says it is for 13" tires and up. I have 12" tires on my pup. Is there a way, short of installing bigger tires, to make it work for 12" tires?

If needed a small block of wood can be easily added to the contact pads.

I used the BAL on the 12" tires of my Yuma for years with no trouble. It'll be just fine.

the tires on my PUP are 20.5 8-10 so does that mean I have 10 inch tires or does that mean I have tires that are 20.5?

20.5x8.0-10 tire has a diameter of 20.7 inches, 4.80-12 has a diameter of app 21.0 inches. A st175/80d13 has a diameter of app 24.0 inches. So that big fat 10 inch is almost the same diameter as a standard 12 and 3 inches less than a std 13 tire. Thats why you sometimes have to add a 1.5" block to the plates to make up the 3 inches.

I have 5.30-12's on mine, and use a BAL with no problems, without a wood shim.

This comes up every couple of months. Do a search, or simply browse in this sub-forum ... look back through the pages. You'll find many, many people who have used the BAL with 12" wheels.

I have the 20.5 X 10 tires and the BAL works fine for me without any mods.

I have 12" tires... I bought a bal last weekend and it works perfectly.
