Well I went and opened my pup and to my surprise one of my zipper by the door was stripped up. Then I remembered a post about using chapstick, it worked like a charm. Thank you so much.............. [:D]

I'd be interesting in finding this out too....we have one zipper on our "window" that skipped some teeth on one side so it's wonky and we can't get it to close up now.

You know when one ends spreads open and you can no longer zip together up or down. That is what I meant by stripped. Anyways, I used chapstick on both sides and was able to get the zipper down all the way and was able to zip it up just like new. Yay, cause I was a bit worried ablout broken zipper.

Sometimes the zipper will separate because the slider has spread (maybe worn) and (SOMETIMES) you can gingerly take a long nosed pliers and GENTLY squeeze that section a tad. But for lubing I've always used candle wax.

The Coleman manual from '74 says to use paraffin or candle-wax. It's FAR cheaper than chapstick. =)

Yeah...I noticed the teeth were pushed up a bit(they are like a plastic type)...so I pushed them back down into the material. But now I have one zipper at the end closing it up...and it won't go over the open part. Then the other zipper comes up from the bottom to meet this separated section. Like the other post said....I can't get them to zip together. It seems like there are more teeth on the top than the bottom. B/f was trying to zip it up before it rained and it got wonky and I didn't want to force it and rip the window. I'll try the needle nose thing cuz one of the teeth does look crooked. It seems a bit tight too........so maybe I'll pull up the bunk ends to give it a little slack while I work on it.

Oh darn...and just when we had windows that didn't have tears, etc! Thanks for the suggestions...we do have wax and probably chapstick somewhere as well. LOL

I tried the wax trick. The zipper had jumped some teeth but with a little working back and forth gently, I was able to get the zipper lined up. Now it opens and closes like a dream!
