Hello all,

I had been browsing soaking up as much info as i can on everything and anything regarding pop ups. i currently tent camp but the wife is not a fan of tents sooooooo we are in the hunt for a pop up for our family of 4. Daughter who is 9 and son who is 3.

Curretly we are leaning toward Rockwoods 1940LTD. My wife prefers new because she says i have to many projects already and has a thing about cleanliness..lol hey if it means getting a new pop im for it..lol

So you should be seeing more of me and hopefully pictures of our trips once we get going.

We just got a Rockwood 2318g for our family of 3. Looking forward to some warmer weather to get out and meet some other portal members and make some memories!

Welcome from Merrimack Valley.

if you are interested in new, I suggest you take the trip to the Springfield RV show. Look for the rally and meet us on 2/14-2/15 :)

Welcome from Tacoma Washington! We saved over $10K by buying one a couple years old. We didn't have any more cleaning to do than we would have with a new one, but even if we did it would have been the highest paying cleaning job ever!

Thanks, the site is great and will be browsing for info a lot.lol

The 1940 seems to fit all of our needs with a lighter weight TV and sive for the 4 of us.

Welcome from Sterling! Good luck with your pup search! You should consider the savings in a used pup, remember they aren't used too much in our neck of the woods!

ya im trying to steer that way. There are a few dealers, Flagg being the better options im thinking as far as selection.

I just bought a used Starcraft from Mann's RV in Rutland. I don't know where you are located but I was super impressed with them, top notch customer service. My SIL's parents always buy from them also.
I don't want to bad mouth Flagg, I had a problem with them and they made it right, I will say inspect any unit from them with a fine toothed comb: I don't think they are as thorough as they could be inspection wise.

Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately the way things are going is there never seems to be too many pop up on dealers lots now. They seem to want to stock and push the higher end ones.

I too would recommend Mann's RV over Flagg. I have purchased 2 Pop ups from Albany RV which will save you 1,000's if you do not mind driving to Albany, NY to get it. If your handy like I am then I am not looking for anyone to touch my new pop other than me. :) I was not that interested in service. I would bring my unit to an independent anyways. Just like my car. I am not a big fan of dealerships. I would much rather visit an RV repair shop that has been around for a long time.

My attitude is that I will take a lot more care with it than some tech guy so I plan on repairing stuff myself. Even if it costs me while it is under warranty.

Good luck. I am sure you will find what you need.

Vin.

Hello from Georgia, I too am new to this forum and I just picked up a new 2014 Rockwood 1940LTD this weekend. Still waiting for its maiden voyage. It tows easily and is just the right size for us and an occasion visitor. Good luck in your hunt. I found a new one on the dealers lot and they were ready to clear it out so I feel like I did ok. Anyway, it's ours now!! [:D]

Welcome from Bedford! We spend the weekend in Springfield and make a "Rally" out of it, it is a great mid-winter break and a chance to catch up with our camping friends. Hope to see you around the fire.
