We tow with an Odyssey mini van. Added transmission cooler, rear air bags, brake controller, and obviously the hitch and wiring. In our case the rear air bags were needed as Odysseys sit pretty low, like a car. You may not need those. You may not need the transmission cooler, either. Depends on what your owners manual says.

And, obviously, you have to check the tow capacity of the vehicle against the weight of the trailer you want to tow + cargo and passengers.

Is it a Town & County? If so, Google says the tow capacity is 3600 to 4000. That's good, you should be able to tow most pop ups. Our Odyssey's tow capacity is only 3000.

I tow with a 2012 Dodge Caravan with no problems. Tow capacity is 3600. We added air bags in the rear springs, which was absolutely necessary to keep things level. Our PUP is relatively lightweight and it doesn't have breaks, so we didn't have to get a break controller. Just get a light PUP and your Odyssey should get the job done!

My recommendation is to always have a tow package if you are towing a pup. The money spent on the upgrade will always be less than the cost of the repair to your engine or transmission if you don't.

I tow with a 2011 Grand Caravan and it is an excellent tow vehicle. I have been all over North America including through the Rocky Mountains in Alberta and Yellowstone with no issues. The engine and transmission and cooling systems are not changed at all with the tow-package option so if you add a hitch and brake controller you will be good to go. If the back end of the van sags you can add Timbren "helper" springs. I did and they are inexpensive and work exactly as advertised. My popup is about 2400lbs empty and well within the tow-rating of the van, but I have 5 people in the van and do know it's back there.
